A house I felt happy in would be the house that I lived in in Almaden. That is a suburb near San Jose. The house was not too small but wasn't that big. It was two stories tall and it had a three fourths of an acre backyard, which is a gigantic. That backyard was on the side of a hill. Near the top of the hill there was a bee hive. At the bottom of it, there was a rusty old swing set. There was an old wooden shed also at the bottom of the hill. On the hill there were many different types of light green trees like apple trees, cherry trees, lemon trees, orange trees, and raspberry vines - which aren't really trees. There was always something fun to do in the backyard. You could sled down when slippery grass was wet. You could climb the tall pine trees which made your clothes smell thick like sented pine. You could dig for rocks in the cool dirt. You could go find ancient things in the shed. Some of the things there were ancient. We could ride our bikes down the bumpy hill and see how fast we could go. It was fun. Something that I think was amazing was the fact that I used to go close to the bee hive but never once got stung. Also there were a lot of different types of lizards and beetles that lived in the backyard. I remember once that I caught a small lizard scurrying across the ground with my bare hands. I could feel it wiggling in my hands like an oversized novelty worm. My sister made me let it go, but I felt very proud of myself because I had been trying to catch one my whole life.
