| What is Mythic Creativity???? |
Mythic Creativity is a writing group dedicated to fantasy fiction. We send a newsletter out (all the time) At the present moment, we are on a membership drive. So, if you like to write, or read fantasy fiction, email us at: [email protected] We are also accepting submissions of written work- stories, poetry, and "other" to be either on this page or in the newsletter. Anyhow, enjoy the page, the next section is writing, and the last section is an explination of the submission process and other random stuff that is pretty cool (in my opinion anyhow) ENJOY! >'..'< Well, not really. we do happen to be looking for someone to design a picture of the "Mythic Creator" for our page. These writings will be changing as much as possible, though it is due to reader/writer involvment Hey, We finally got the October Writer of the Month Stuff up, check it out, it is very cool!!! Writer of the Month & Some other Cool Stuff The October Writer of the Month's stuff will be up soon. 8o) Lady of the Oldenwoode by Cynthia Chin Through the high forest he rode Wrapped in gleaming armor of old. A spear diamond-tipped, prayers on his lips, This knight so proud and bold. Suddenly, within a glade He spied a creature heaven-made. With but a look, his heart she took And never more would he be saved. Woven through her flaming hair Flowers twined 'round a face so fair. Lips petal-soft, staff borne aloft And laughter bright without a care. Hidden away in this secret place Of delicious fruit she gave him taste. To keep from harm she wove a charm With kisses planted 'cross his face. Out of sight beneath the moon The forest sang a haunting tune. Fireflies, they lit the sky But this pretty scene would end too soon. Just above the fairy's ring She bade the tiny birds to sing -- Little rhymes to while the time Peace would their songs bring. Around the fairy ring they danced Drawing him deeper into her trance. If his mind forgot, his heart did not But now too late, he lost his chance. From the stars, from heaven to hell Down into the dark he fell This holy paladin now full of sin Yet to his god he would not tell. Her body wreathed with unholy fire With evil gods she did conspire And kept them all, held in thrall To satisfy her dark desire. A cold statue rests now where he stood A monument to this defeat of Good. Behind him you'll see, 'twixt those two trees The Lady of the Oldenwoode. Fin An Escape by one who will not be known Don't listen to the electrophone Or lurk in the halls When another is dying. If you can't help, there are greater places to be. Just look out the window Where you are not to blame. Foolish Dream By Tory Phaneuf Wings of many colors, but none Beat the air. Sounds never heard, but always remembered, Fill the sky. Light reflected off a thousand shining plates, Blinds you. Love indistinguishable from fear, Burns in your veins. | Other Stuff: Note Wall/Submission Process |
The Mythic Creator's Wishes for Submission of Original Writings and Artwork: Writings *must be typed and sent to [email protected] (note: please use cut & paste instead of enclosure) *must be original work *must not be racist, sexist or prejudiced in nature *we are sorry, but not everything submitted will be published Artwork we would like to accept artwork, however we regret that: all artwork must be in .gif form * we would prefer the files formatted for macs, please *must be orginal work All featured Writers/Artists will be identified. We will include e-mail and web-site info if the creator wishs. All artist/writer of the month canidates must submit at least 3 pieces of work-preferably more, and some basic biographical info. We, unfortunately, will not have any artists/writers of the month until we have some canidates. Enjoy, and please submit, because new writing is what keeps Mythic Creativity alive. Artwork is important, without it, we are stuck with these nasty window images. and now, we have a note wall- a message board type thingie A way to contact other Mytic Creators without having to go through us...we want people to leave messages-promoting your website, poetry for people to critique, what you think of our site, whatever...
