I am a part-time student at Montgomery College seeking a Web Certificate by the end of 2000. Last semester I took three classes, which, although I did well, proved to me to be a little too stressful. So I am back to two evening classes per semester. I hope in the future to have more time to dedicate towards my education. Over the next several years, I plan to continue my journey towards a business related degree.
After working eight years in the day care field I finally came to my senses and got a real job. I am now a front line secretary for the City of Rockville. I work full-time in the Glenview Mansion as a conference/social event coordinator. I also manage the annual garden plot program. I am presently involved in planning the Glenview Mansion's first Bridal Expo scheduled for March 12th. I am learning a lot about the planning of a large scale public social event. I have also participated on the Customer Service Task Force to create an updated list of customer service standards to be implemented throughout all departments in the city. I have been with the City of Rockville for over two years and enjoy my work very much. I plan to continue working for the City of Rockville even after I finish my degree; perhaps, five or ten years down the road.
I am looking forward to learning the basics of HTML and being able to produce a web site by the end of this class. I also intend to use this information to begin a part-time job entering and updating data online for a Rockville based company.
