The Naga
![]() |
The Naga was a creature of Indian(India) origin. The Naga was
a spiritual servant or guardian for one of the older Hindu Gods. The Naga is a serpent
with the head of a man. In some causes the Naga can be found depicted having multiple
heads, in this respect the naga can look somewhat like the Hydra. The Naga would guard the temples and sacred places of the older Hindu Gods. Once Buddha became a part of Indain culture the Naga was adapted to the newer religion. Often art works of Buddha will depict Nagas guarding him in some way. Just as they guarded the ancient Gods of before. |
