Vampires look like humans and can even hide amoung us. You don't know
someone is a vampire until just before they strike. Then they bear fangs and you can see
them for what they are...too bad by that time it is usually too late. Vampires are creatures the the night. The touch of sunlight will destroy them. It is said that garlic and crosses can repell Vampires. In legend there are many different ways to kill vampires. The most popular ways seem to be burning, decapitation, and a stake though the heart. In some stories Vampires are able to assume different forms. The most common forms are the wolf, bat, raven, and sometimes that of a black dog. |
| The most famous Vampire of all is Count Dracula. He was a vampire that lived in Translyvania. Stories say that he would feed off the peasentry maidens at night. Actually the figure of Count Dracula might have been taken off of a true historical figure. Vlad was a Translyvanian king that liked to impale his enemies on pikes...he had a rather blood thirsty nature |
