Welcome to Matt H. and Tom's Web site!!!

This web site is about Auschwitz and how terrible the people were treated there. Auschwitz was a death camp that Jews were sent to to be killed because the Nazis wanted to get rid of them. The Nazis would go to the Jews houses and take them from there and put them in trains and ship them to Auschwitz to be killed. Some of the ways the people were killed were by being shot, put in a gas chamber, injected with poisons and by starving to death.

Opened in June, 1940 in Auschwitz, Poland thirty miles from Krakow. It is undeniably the largest and most infamous of the death camps. Auschwitz doubled with Majdanek as labor camps. Rudolph Hess said that over two and a half million people died there, most of them Jews.

Shortly after midnight on  January 18, 1945 the Germans destroyed the Crematoria and gathered the last of the prisoners with the Russians guns booming in the distance. They marched many miles into Germany to other camps. Upon arrival the Red Army discovered 5000 prisoners left to die in the cold. So is how one of the most feared places in all of Europe came to an end.
