Happy Y2K! Yes, I know it's a little late to be wishing everyone
a Happy New Year, but oh well...c'est la vie, non?
I hope everyone had a good vacation...I know that I enjoyed myself on a
much-needed break from all of life's pressures
(ie my honors project!!!). We just got done with the first week of
classes...so far, things look like a lot of fun! I'm taking
creative non-fiction (aka Bullshit 101), nonparametric statistics (it's
not as bad as it sounds, really!), advanced biochem
(it's a mini FYP reunion every day!), and a history class (eeek!
I'm out of the science building!) on the British-French
relationships in North America. A little random, yes, but nothing
too stressful...I am also finishing up my two research
projects...EM is coming along well, all I need to do now is snap a few
pictures and work on the write up...my honors project
is something else compeletely! I'm trudging through Excel files and
graphs in order to analyze the data I collected last
semester...what a pain! I'm so glad things are looking good...it
makes it a little easier to sit in front of a computer for hours on
end when your data actually SUPPORTS your hypothesis!!! It is looking
so good, in fact, that my advisor submitted my
abstract to AChemS for their annual meeting in Sarasota, FL at the end
of April. Cool beans! I'll have to wait until March to
hear what the verdict is (around the same time I should be hearing back
from graduate schools, by the way), but Dr. Hornung
seems pretty confident that I'm in. Yay! This will be a FABULOUS
experience for me...BU, take notice!!! :)
Well, that's enough of academia. Aileen and her new, non-psychotic
roomie, Sean Higgins, hosted a wild party Wednesday...
it was a great chance to see everyone from freshman year again! I
should be getting my pictures back sometime soon...I'll
add them to the photo album, have no fear! I may have to sensor a
few of them, knowing what we usually do when we get
together, but I promise you'll get the idea :)
I've got to run...I have a ton of reading to do for Monday, as well a trying
to decipher my biochem notes (they're all in a nearly
illegible patented Aimee scribble that makes people wonder why I'm not
going to medical school). Hope you all have a
fabulous weekend, and I will hopefully be updating this page within a week!
Take care!
Love,
Aimee :)
Never underestimate the power
of a cranky moose! :)
