I have created a patch to remove the ~death~ voice from Black and White. I found the voice to be quite annoying and did not add much to the game.

What does it do?
The patch consists of a batch file to automate the patching process, an RTPatch file, and the patch program.

The batch file performs the following:
1) Create a backup of the file Guidance.Sad to Guidance.Bck
      - If the file Guidance.Bck already exists, it skips this step.
2) Runs the patch program, applying the patch to the file Guidance.Sad.

So How does it Work?
The patch works by replacing the data comprising the word "death" with zeros. This effectively reduces the volume of said word to zero. So the game will still play the sound file, but you will hear nothing. Ahh, silence at last!

IMPORTANT!
Be sure to restore the original Guidance.Sad file before applying any official patches!

Installation
1) Extract the the contents of the ZIP file to Black and White\Audio\Dialogue.
2) Double-Click on Runme.Bat.
3) Follow the instructions.

Check the file date of Guidance.Sad tell if the patch was applied.
Original 02/22/2001
Patched: 04/09/2001

Legal Mumbo-Jumbo.
I take no responsibility whatsoever for the use of this patch. I offer no warranty expressed or implied. The patch was designed around the English version of the file Guidance.Sad. As such, unless another language's Guidance.Sad file is exactly the same as the one shipped on my CD, the patch will do nothing for you.
