In-Game Review:

In this game, you are  playing  as  Samanosuke - a young  warrior - who  has  yet  met  his  worthy
opponents  and  a  female  ninja  named  Kaede. In  this  story,  he's  to  rescue  his  cousin   with  the  help  of  beautiful  female  ninja  named  Kaede. The  opening  movie is  superb.  It really  sets  the  standard  of  PS2  games  and  it's by  far  the  most  beautiful  CGmovie  ever  produced  for PS2  system.

The  in-game  graphics  are  well-done with  about  10,000  polygons  for  the  design  of  Samanosuke
himself, I think it's one  of  the  most  detailed  character  ever produced.  The  characters  really
show  the  true  emotions  and  reactions  when  they  speak.  And  the ir  gestures  are  natural  and
fluid. Not  to  mention  the  magic  effects which  are  undeniably  stunning!Samanosuke 's  appearance  will  change  as  he  changes  his  armors.  Sam e  goes  to  changing  his  weapons.  Even
his  gaunlets  are  also  different  each  time  it  transforms  to  stronger ones.

The  gameplay is  similar  to  Resident  Evil  series  where  your  characters  can  run, turn  360 degrees. However,  there  are  tons  of  improvement over  Resident  Evil ;  your  character  can  do
quick sidesteps  to  avoid  enemy  attacks. Blocks  are  also  implemented  to  add  the  realism  in  melee  combats.  Critical  attacks  are  the  most  satisfying  method  to  kill your  enemies- you'll
know  that  your  attack's  critical  when  you  see  a  flash  yellow  light  on  the  screen.  You  can
only  execute  critical  attacks  against  normal  enemies.  Kaede's  critical  attack is  one  of  my
favourite- she  will  jump  over  the  enemy  and  she  will  slash  the  enemy's  throat/  stab  in  some
enemies with  her  short  blade. Samanosuke  can  have  projectile  weapons  such  as  bows  which  is
very  efficient  against  pestky  enemies'  archers.  Kaede  has  her  trusted  kunai  which  is  slightly
weaker  than  Samanosuke's  bow.

Along  the  course  of  the  game,  you  will switch  characters  between  Samanosuke  and  Kaede.
On the  overall,  you  will control  roughly  80%  of  the  whole  game  and  Kaede,  20%.  Many  of  the
traps  are  challenging  but  the  designer  make  it  in  such  a  way  that  average  players  would  be
able  to  solve  most  of  them  especially  the  ones  that  contain  key  items to  proceed.

On  the  whole,  I  give  this  game  a  solid  9.3 score .
