Prayer / Praise Points

Cut out along the lines to carry with you as a summery

Prayer isn't getting our will done in heaven, its getting God's will done here on earth.

Praise:

  • A great Mid Year Conference, inspiring us and the students to go further in our Christian walk.

  • The examples of  new Christians sharing their faith and seeing others come to the Lord. May they be an inspiration to us!

Prayer:
  • The Japanese project throughout August. Pray they have good sharing opportunities with Sydney students, that we can introduce our Japanese friends to the team, and that the team will be built up during their time here.

  • Christian-Socialist forum. Pray for a good Christian speaker, an amiable atmosphere and effective followup.

time I was at MYC Gabrielle was not a Christian. During that previous MYC she came to a decision that she wanted to place her trust in Jesus. What an exciting time for her and us!

So it was a great delight to be able to meet her again this year. Gabrielle asked for people to pray for her friend who didn't know Jesus. Yesterday I heard that her friend has now also accepted Jesus!

Gabrielle has just demonstrated a principle very dear to the heart of our organisation. For want of a better name, I'm going to call it the Sun - Smiley face principle. The cute little sun shapes represent people so excited about their faith that they go and tell their friends about Jesus, leading them into God's family (they get a little smiley face or sun shape). As the sun shaped people are discipled, they too in turn can share their faith with their friends (more smiley faces). Gabrielle without knowing it is demonstrating the Sun-Smiley face principle in vibrant colour.

Are you a sun-shapped multiplying Christian? You

Hmmm, what would your opinion be?

Its almost worth signing up at Sydney Uni just so you can participate in our forums isn't it?

BUDDHIST
TEMPLE OPENS
An old Masonic lodge near to my house has been converted into a Buddhist temple. The temple was opened last week with great fanfare. I've included some photos I took of the rituals.

might get laughed at for having such an odd shape, but you could be putting a smile on a lot of people's faces!

JESUS vs MARX?
With cooperation from one of the many socialist groups at Sydney University, Student Life is organising a public forum examining the differences between Socialism and Christianity. As I understand it, the main difference revolves around the question of whether an external change can effectively better society, or whether real change needs to come from the inside.
