Here are some lesson plans and activities that can be used for rhythm.
The students will put the rhythm in their feet while they
keep the steady beat in their hands.
1. Teacher teaches the above rhythmic phrase with body
percussion.
2. Teacher has the students walk the steady beat and
perform the body percussion with the music.
3. Teacher tells students to put the rhythm in their
feet.
4. Teacher tells the students to patsch the steady beat
while moving their feet to the rhythm.
5. Teacher has the students perform with the music.
The students will be in 2 different circles performing the rhythms below in call and response with body percussion.
1. The students will learn body percussion to the above
rhythms.
2. The teacher will divide the class into 2 and have
them form 2 lines on either side of the room.
3. Teacher will designate who will perform which rhythm.
4. Students will perform the rhythms in call and response.
5. The teacher then places the students into 2 circles
and have them move in opposite directions.
6. Teacher has them perform the rhythms again, this time
with the music.
The students will be able to perform the rhythms with rhythm instruments along with the music.
1. Students will learn the rhythmic syllables to the above
rhythm.
2. Teacher will have the students transfer the syllables
to the rhythm instruments.
3. Teacher will have the students perform the rhythm
at a slow tempo.
4. Teacher will raise the tempo everytime they perform
the rhythms until it is up to tempo.
5. Teacher will have the students perform the rhythm
with the rhythm instruments along with the music.
