WHAT IS FIRST?

The mission of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Compitition is to inspire curiosity and create interest in science and mathematics among today's youth by immersing them in the world of engineering, and showing the important connections between classroom lessons and real-world applications. The robotics competition teams students, teachers, engineers and corporations to brainstorm, design, and construct a functional robot in just six weeks time. Regional and National robotics competitions are held each spring where enthusiastic students and their supporters challenge other robots from accross the country.

The student support staff includes engineers and corporate individuals from Lego Systems Inc., teachers, parents, and some former students.

WHAT IS OUR GOAL?

To create an environment which exposes young minds to science & technology where students, teachers and engineering professionals work together as peers in a non-competitive atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. The success of our experiences will be measured by friendships, teamwork and the shape of our future goals.
