About the Author

Marion Zimmer Bradley is the author of Mists of Avalon, and its prequel, the Forest House, as well as the book that fits between them, called Lady of Avalon. She has also written a TON of books besides Mists, especially a humongus series called Darkover. (There?s a list of all of them on her fantasy magazine site). MZB was born in Albany, New York, in 1930. When she was 19, she married Robert Bradley, but later divorced him. In 1964, she got her BA from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, and later did graduate work at University of California at Berkeley. She passed away in September.

A quote from one of her fans that circulated by email: "She hadn't been in the best of health. I couldn't pick up my latest issue of MZB's Fantasy Magazine without hearing about another hospitalization or another illness. You always thought she'd pull through."
