Earlier Pythagoras' Theorem

Pythagoras is the first one who prove the Pythagoras's Theorem, he was a Greek mathematician (about 500 B.C.). However, it should be noted that about 2000 years earlier than Pythagoras, the Egyptians had made use of this fact to construct right angles. This was also known to the Babylonians about 1000 years before Pythagoras. But according to Zhou Bi Suan Jing, which is the oldest Chinese mathematics book, this relation was known to the Chinese in the Xi Zhou Dynasty (about 1100 B.C.) or probably earlier. The Chinese mathematicians called this Gou Gu Theorem or Shang Gao Theorem.
