Acknowledgments

It took a hardworking team of professionals to bring this book together. Literally dozens of people--editors, designers, proofreaders, technical reviewers, and others--had a hand in the making of this book. It's impossible to thank them all personally, but I would like to mention a few whose efforts were truly noteworthy.

I had a tag team of Product Development Specialists to rely on--Lori Cates, Lorna Gentry, and John Gosney. Their comments and suggestions helped make this book easier to understand.

Acquisitions Editor Martha O'Sullivan came back from maternity leave in time to make sure the project stayed on track.

Discovery Computing, Inc., checked the manuscript for technical accuracy and offered several invaluable suggestions.

And a very special thank you to Publishing Director Lynn Zingraf for his unwavering support.
