Springs Academy is searching for an administrator. We feel there are several important qualities our future administrator will possess. One is a strong conviction in Christ. Being a Christian school, it is very important to us that our head be a believer. This will help us accomplish the tasks of setting a good example for our students and also will help us to see the Lord's vision for our school. We are open to innovative teaching methods. We like our students to be involved; to have hands on experience in their education. Candidates must be creative in this respect. Field trips, class projects, and speakers are just some ideas that have worked in the past. We need someone who can think of these and more. As you can see, we are definetly open and not stagnant and set in our ways. Let this be a general guide - not an absolute. |
As being an administrator can be a difficult task, we ask for prior experience. A minimum of five years in this position is a great asset. This will have provided the candidate with ample time to get a feel for not only what it means to be an administrator (the paperwork, meetings, etc.) behind the scenes, but also what it means to be interactive with the children. The latter task here is sometimes the more difficult. Having experience in a school setting with 200 - 300 kids would be a definite asset. We likewise are looking for someone with a bachelors degree or higher. This by no means says that a candidate without a degree is not as proficient, but it does imply a greater understanding of the current trend in education and a deeper understanding of the mechanics of running a school. A degree or certificate above and beyond this is a plus. | ||||||||||||||||
