Indonesia is a beautiful, diverse country of many magnificent sights. I'm afraid that my little page can hardly do justice to this fantastic country!

Buddha Statue- Borobudur, Central Java
Borobudur is an amazing Hindu-Buddhist temple complex located near Yogjakarta. It is a truly awe inspiring sight.

Stupa- Prambanan, Central Java
Near to Yogjakarta as well, is the incredible Hindu complex of Prambanan. Prambanan's majesty easily rivals that of its more famous neighbor.
Cremation Ceremony- Ubud, Bali
This ceremony took place following the death of a pillar of Ubud's community. Many foreigners attended, and the Balinese did everything possible to allow outsiders to participate and observe without interfering. They even handed out free pamphlets describing proper dress and behavior. The procession was enormous, considering Ubud's size, and showed the esteem in which the deceased was held by the community. After being carried to the cremation grounds in a large tower-like structure, the body was placed inside this bull and cremated.
Life on the Musi River
The Musi River is the heart of Palembang, Sumatra's second largest city. A major port and indusrtial city, Palembang's province of Sumatra Selatan is a major oil provider for Indonesia. This is the city which I taught in during my first trip to Indonesia.
