Friend, are you complaining
about the food in hostel now? Do you think the food in Singapore is less
palatable than China? Do you have this kind of opinion that you want to go back
to China to eat? I have this kind of feeling when I just came to Singapore.
However, now I have a different opinion. The food that
you think is
bad is just the food provided in the hostel. It is not representative
of many
kinds of food in
Singapore. Let me tell you where to go for a taste of the really
delicious food.
Singapore is a multiple racial
country, so you can eat different kinds of food, such as Chinese food, Malay
food, and Northern & Southern Indian food even Japanese food. If
you want to eat Chinese food, Chinatown would be a good place
to go, you can
eat Chinese snacks there and things there are generally very cheap. If you want to
eat India food, then go to Little Indian. You can eat authentic Indian food
there. In addition, Japanese food is also popular in Singapore. There are Japanese food sales in many
shopping malls. You can pay S$3 for a box of Sushi. How nice!
Maybe some people are not so
adventurous and don’t want to try new food. Think over that you can eat so much
different food in one city. Great!
After introducing the main
kind of food, let me tell you some special places where you can eat, In Suntec
City, there is also a special area for self-service eating. You can spend about
S$15 to eat anything you want there, including seafood, cake, ice cream and
fruit. Additionally, there are also many fast-food shops there, such as KFC,
McDonald, and Burger King etc. Moreover, there is a big supermarket called Carrefour. There, you can buy cakes, baked
chicken, meat and all kinds if snacks there and they are cheaper than normal
supermarkets. Outside Carrefour, there
is an ice cream shop. You can buy an ice cream for only 60cents.
Ngee Ann City 5
Food Court is
another place where you can go for a meal. The stall sells Japanese food
is particularly good. There is also a bread shop called Jacky’s
House on the basement; the bread
there is very delicious.
Outside City Hall MRT station, there
is a Xi’an dumpling shop. At Marina Bay, there is a stall
selling steamboat,
called Noble steamboat. You eat all you want to eat for just S$13,
after a good meal
you can fly kites as well. Do you want to try? Take MRT to Marina Bay, then
take bus No.400, and get down until you check out the Noble steamboat.
You will not be disappointed. There is another food center called Lau
pasha, where you can eat numerous different kinds of Malay food,
Indian food and Chinese food there. It is located in Raffles Place.
There are also many other food
centers in Singapore waiting for you to discover. Also you can buy some fresh
vegetables and raw meat from supermarket and cook them yourself. In conclusion,
Singapore is heaven of food, so enjoy yourself here!
