"How tired am I!"

While thinking this, Shi Xu laid on his bed.  He was a scholar from Jiang Su province. He had arrived in Singapore three hours ago, but even now he felt a deep ache.

After saying "hi" and giving his name to his roommate, he fell asleep. After a week’s break, his English course started. In the following month, life was quite peaceful. Till one day, MOE told them that they could go back to China and had about 10 days holiday during the Chinese New Year. However, before that, they should finish a survey report and take English examination for their English course. They were happy to learn that they could go back to China to celebrate Chinese New Year with their family. So, all of them started to work very hard. Jone (Shi Xu's English name) did so. One day, in order to do some research, Jone went to library. Jone was using the OPAC program to check out the books available in the library. When he tried to write down the call number of a book, he could not find a pen. Jone looked around. He saw his friend Tom talking with somebody.

"Hello, Tom. Could you please lend me a pen?"

"Hello, Jone. I am sorry, I don't have one."

"I can lend you one, but you need pay me back two." a girl whom Tom was talking with said to Jone, smiling cheekily.

"Ok, thank you" Jone took the pen and said goodbye to the lovely girl.

Her name is Fang You Yuan, English name is Jane. She came from Hei Bei province, the same school with Tom. She had been a good girl in her school. All these Jone knew from Tom. When Tom left, Jone started to think the girl. "She is a nice girl who has some humor, and she is very beautiful." Holiday came, holiday passed. Jone had a great time with his family. But now his busy schedule took up most of the time, it was hard to think something else. Generally speaking, those days passed by quickly.

It was March now. They had already got used to the rain in Singapore. It comes quickly and leaves quickly. This morning the weather was still fine. However, when Jone was leaving for lunch after tutorial, it started rain. While Jone was taking out his umbrella, he saw Jane. She didn't bring her umbrella. Jone walked towards Jane, left his umbrella to her, turned back and ran in the rain. Jane didn’t know what to say, until Jone was far away.

"Thanks, but what about you?" she shouted

"It’s my pleasure." replied by Jone.

"He is nice boy, isn't he?" Jane thought

The falling Friday night, Jone made a phone call to Jane.

"Hello"

"Hello, can speak to Jane?"

"Hold on please"

"Hello, this is Jane."

"Hello, this is Jone. Are you free tomorrow?"

"Yeah, it is weekend, isn't it?"

"Yeah..."

"Do you have any plan?"

"Yes, no, no, no. I mean 'yes'."

"Come on boy, what's it?"

"Would you like to go to ORCHARD with me tomorrow?"

"Well, I think..."

"You think what?"

"Don’t be tense. I think, I think it should be.... Ok."

"Thanks god, thank you, see you tomorrow."

Jone put down the phone and became so excited. For a moment, Jone realized that they hadn't fixed the meeting place &time. While Jone was going to call again, the phone rang. Jone picked up the phone. It was Jane.

"You haven't told me where and when to meet, boy?" 

"Yeah, yeah, I also think so. What about 9:00 near the gate of the lift?"

"Ok, see you then."

"See you then."

The weekend was very nice; they had a good time.

The English course finished in April and physics and math course started in may. There was a tow week break in September. Several friends of Jone who came from China visited Singapore during the tow weeks. Certainly Jone would go and see them. At that day, Jone went with his girlfriend Jane. They visited Sentosa, East Coast Park, Singapore zoo and Bird Park. Though, they were very tired, they enjoyed themselves so much. In the evening, they went back by bus. They were very tired on the bus, so some of the m fell asleep. When the bus arrived at Sembawang Shopping Center, Jone worried about his friends who were new here. So he paid more attention to his friends-----waked them up and told them to get off. When the bus started to move again, Jone realized something suddenly. "Where is Jane? She is still on the bus." Jone began to run very quickly, following the bus till next stop. Luckily, the next stop is not very far. Jone walked back with Jane. On the way Jone felt so sorry to Jane and Jane really got angry with Jone.

"I am so sorry. I…" said Jone

"You have no need to say 'sorry'. It is my own fault. I am a foolish girl. Now you and your friends can laugh at me."

"I don't have that kind of thoughts. I just…"

"You just what? You just thinking about your friends. You never take care of me. Am I right?"

"No, you are wrong. It is because…"

Jane watched Jone with some tear in her eyes.

"Yes, you always have your reasons. How can I be right!" said Jane.

A happy day ended with a sad accident. Both Jone and Jane didn't sleep well that night.

Next morning, Jone wrote a Chinese character "荆" on a piece of paper and put it on his back. Then he called Jane and made a date around the lift. Jone showed his back to Jane and said sorry to her. Jane couldn't help laughing and she forgives him.

How time flies! Several months passed away.

Today, it is raining again, which is very often. After the tutorial, there are two people under one umbrella walking in the rain slowly and happily. (No running and shouting).

Is it going to rain tomorrow?
