¡¡ There are several interesting clubs
which you can join in, and the most popular one is Tae Kwon Do (TKD) club. Tae Kwon Do is
a traditional martial art, which was developed in Korea over twenty centuries ago. Its
origin dates back to Koguryo Dynasty founded in 37 B.C. You may be interested in martial arts very much but only favor Chinese Kungfu. We are glad to share our experience with you. The reason why we choose Tae Kwon Do is that it really attracts us. OK, let us tell you some details about Tae Kwon Do, and make a comparison with Kungfu. Tae Kwon Do has its special features. Firstly, Tae Kwon Do focuses more on feet and less on hands, so kicking is the main weapon. It has two advantages: 1. Leg is longer, so you will reach your opponent faster; 2. The leg's power is greater, thus it is good for those who lack of physical fundamentals. Secondly, Tae Kwon Do emphasizes body's mobility, in another word, fighters are supposed to move fast. This trait strengthens the effectiveness of kicking, and complements the shortcoming of power. Lastly, Tae Kwon Do is easy to learn. If you learn Chinese Kungfu--surely Chinese Kungfu is considered to be the most powerful in the world--but it takes you much longer time, and you may not be get any result. But if you learn Tae Kwon Do, you will master all the basic kicks in three months, and you will become skillful in one year around. After training, you can see your progress in the aspects of endurance, health status, disposition and motivation. By the way, Tae Kwon Do is also a good way to lose weight! As Tae Kwon Do club members, we are very glad to introduce you to this new club. Firstly,
the training is always a challenge for all of us. We are
supposed to try our best all the time during the training, and we really do that. Everyone
is ordered to wear Tae Kwon Do uniforms, and go without shoes. The weather is always hot,
our feet always get frayed and our Shifu always push us hard, but we enjoy it! You see
life is tough but we need to treat it positively. That is the way we challenge our fates!
So we persevere on with our strenuous trainer. When we are kicking, we usually shout
loudly, in order to encourage ourselves on. As we train, we feel confident and we keep
away sad thought and unhappiness. We believe that people should overcome the problems that
occur in their lives, and we learn much about this kind of spirit during training.
Moreover, we are able to test our limitation, and to initiate both our physical and mental
potentials. You ought to keep one thing in mind, that when training we Tae Kwon Do members
are disciplining ourselves, and we are improving.
Thirdly, I would like to introduce you
our Shifu. Shifu so far is 4th dan, black belt. He was one of the
pioneers of Tae Kwon Do scholars who were sent to Korea for training, and he won many
champions. He fights with all kinds of martial artists, so he owns rich experience. Shifu is a very winning person. He treats us as his
brothers and sisters, so we like him very much. He
often mentions that Tae Kwon Do is his job, also his life. We are always aware Shifu¡¯s
passion. You know that it is almost free to join in the club, but Shifu always encourage
us to come. He loves Tae Kwon Do, and he infects us! As a result, we are motivated and
enjoy the training. Shifu is really nice. He is
a humble person who is always encouraging. If you were late for the training, you just
need to take a bow say hello to the class, then you join in. If you do not feel very well,
say you were injured, all you have to do is to take a bow and explain your situation, and
you can leave with Shifu's permission. Shifu is good
at sparring (real fighting) and masters many strategies. He is such a diligent person
that he shares his precious experience with us, and tells us his philosophies. One
memorable case is that, at one sparring, we were shown how crucial it would be in the
tournament (two simple kicks are good enough to beat a skillful opponent down). Shifu
emphasized that ¡°Take good care of yourself¡±. I am sure you would be shocked at that
moment. He said that this principle is not only useful in tournament, but also in our real
life. That is true! The difference is that
the attack can be seen in the tournament while it is invisible in your real life. So take
more care of yourself in reality! The training in NIE is on every Monday,
at 6pm at the basketball court, generally it lasts for two hours. If you
come, you have your own reasons. Just enjoy it! |
