Permanent Station: April 21, 1994 - December 19, 1998,
45th Space Wing - Patrick AFB, FL.  Mission: "To be the world's premier gateway to space."  I was assigned to the
Space Wing Chapel as an Office Manager.  I learned both technical and non technical skills while working numerous roles.  I had a primary responsibility as Computer Manager and Security Officer for 15 computers.  As Readiness Manager I learned systems which allowed me to track the deployment of military personnel and equipment through an integrated military network.  Quickbooks, Microsoft Office and Local Area Networking was also taught.  My communication skills were essential for team projects and communication with base agencies.

Overseas Assignment: May 2, 1995 - July 31, 1995, Joint Task Force 160, Operation Sea Signal - Guantanamo Bay, NAVSTA, Cuba.  Humanitarian assistance was given to over 100,000 Cuban and Haitian refugees.  The Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines combined to assist in building, maintaining, and controlling camps in Guantanamo Bay.  My role was to assist in maintaining facilities that accommodated the refugees.  I was responsible for giving commanders feedback on the moral in the camps.  Being a team player was essential in communicating and providing information to other branches of the U.S. military.
Interesting Facts:
1.  Guantanamo Bay has the largest mine field in the world separating sovereign Cuba and and the U.S military installation.  2.  Cuba is the closest communist country to the U.S. located 90 miles away from Florida.  3.  Every refugee that cleared a background check was given U.S. citizenship.

Reason for Leaving Active Duty: The Air Force was great but my desire to leave was greater.  I seperated to finish college and find a career that is more satisfying.

Air Force Reserves: December 20, 1998 - Present, 325 Fighter Wing - Tyndall AFB, FL.  My relationship with the military is ongoing as an Inactive Military Augmentee in the reserves.  The reserves allows me to earn extra money for school.  My continued involvement will be contingent on the job offers I receive prior to graduating.
