The Gangotri Valley is situated at an altitude of approximate 3100Mts above the sea level. This picturesque valley, also a famous Hindu pilgrim destination, is the base point for the journey / trek to Gomukh, from where the sacred river Ganga ( Bhagirathi ) originates. The 16 km trek, which is fairly simple, is en-route Chir-wasa and Bhoj- wasa .
