Asexual Reproduction

Asexual reproduction is not a new thing.  For bacteria, protozoan,  yeast etc also  reproduce by asexual reproduction.

' By given a good growing conditions, a bacterium grows slightly in size or length, new cell wall grows through the center, and the " bug " splits into two daughter cells, each with same genetic material.  If the environment is optimum, the two daughter cells may split into four in 20minutes.'

( From : http://www.cellsalive.com/ecoli.htm  )

The different between sexual and asexual reproduction is that a sexual reproduction is combined with two different genome ( one from male ,one from female ).  And then carries out cell division.  But for asexual reproduction only one chromosome is used.
