Wolfpack's
Den

Here you will find out a little about our favorite animal, Canis
lupus and his cousins. We are very adament about the survival of these beautiful
and misunderstood animals.
The Native Americans consider wolf to be
one of three of their greatest totem emblems. The great wolf was a leader and
spirit guide to many of the native american tribes.
Wolves are
powerful, graceful and cunning hunters, yet they care for each other in
family groupings or packs. All of a packs members are dependant on the
others and all are responsible for raising and teaching the young cubs of their
pack leaders.
The leaders of a pack are a mated pair of mature adults
known as the Alpha male and female. Wolves mate for life and it has been
suggested that they know and undertand how to love their mates. Very few
mated pairs ever split up naturally and have strong family values.
Wolves communicate through body language, snarls, yelps and nipping.
But the most significant and well known form of communication is howling
Howl
A wolf can't survive by her own self alone.
She must know her place on earth.
She must recognize the
instincts of the wild.
She must flow with the wolf pack.
Wherever they may travel to which will
take her into the
complex ecosystem
look at me. I am not a lone wolf.
I am
a member of the pack. I am
the alpha female with my many pups a
very powerful wolf.
We howl with the pack not alone
