Chirostenotes (KIY-row-sten-oh-tees)


A Late Cretaceous theropod from Alberta, Canada [Greek cheir, "hand" + steno, "narrow"]. It might have looked like a dromaeosaur like Stenonychosaurus, but had longer and less crooked claws. Its long fingers had thinner claws than Elmisaurus. It might have been tha same animal as Macrophalangia. Chirostenotes got about 2 meters long.
