Compsognathus (comp-sug-NAY-thus)
A Late Jurassic theropod from Europe (Southern West-Germany and South-Eastern France) [Greek kompos, "elegant" + gnathos, "jaw"]. Compsognathus was the size of a chicken and was built sort of like Archaeopteryx. It had a long neck and a very long tail. It had toes on each foot, and legs twice the lenght of its arms. Compsognathus might only have had two fingers on each hand, like Tyrannosaurus. This dino grew a bit longer than 30 centimeters and weighed 3 kilos.
