Dryptosaurus (DRIP-toe-sore-us)

A Late Cretaceous theropod from North America (New Jersey, Maryland, Colorado, Montana and maybe Wyoming) [Greek drypto, "to tear"]. Dryptosaurus had short but powerful arms and big muscular legs. The crooked teeth and claws looked like those of a megalosaur, but the upper part of the thighbone reminded more of Iguanodon.

Length: more than 6 m
