Massospondylus (MASS-oh-spon-die-lus)
An Late Triassic/Early Jurassic prosauropod from North America and southern Africa [Latin massa, "bulk" + Greek spondylos, "vertebra"]. Massospondylus had massive hands with well spread fingers and a big, crooked claw on each thumb. It was southern Africa�s most widely spread prosauropod.
