Opisthocoelicaudia (oh-PIS-tho-SEE-li-kaw-dee-uh)
A Late Cretaceous sauropod from Asia [Greek opisthe, "backward" + Latin cauda, "tail"]. Opisthocoelicaudia was discovered when Polish scientists found a almost complete skeleton in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. They believe that this dinosaur walked with its back almost level and kept its tail stiff straight out. Unfortunately the head and neck is missing. The skull of Nemegtosaurus found a few kilometers away have led some experts to believe that Nemegtosaurus and Opisthocoelicaudia are two different names for the same animal. But it is not certain that the head fits with Opisthocoelicaudias body-type.
