THE FOUR AGREEMENTS
- BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
- Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
- DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
- Nothing Others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
- DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
- Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstanding, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
- ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
- Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstances, simply do your best, and you will avoid self judgment, self abuse, and regret.

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS
MENTAL ATTITUDE
Whenever you go out doors draw the chin in carry the crown of your head high,
and fill your lungs to the utmost.
Drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, put soul in every hand clasp.
Do not fear being misunderstood; never waste a minute thinking about your enemies.
Fix firmly in your mind what you would like to do, without violence of direction you will move straight to the goal.
Keep your mind on the great and splendid things you would like to do; as the days go gliding by, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are required for the fulfillment of your desires.
Like the coral insect takes from the running tide the elements it needs. Picture in your mind the able, earnest, useful person you desire to be, and the thought you hold is hourly transforming you into that particular individual.
Thought is supreme. Preserve a right mental attitude - the attitude of courage, frankness and good cheer to think right is to create. All things come through desire, and every sincere prayer is answered.
We become like that on which our hearts are fixed.
WE ARE THE GODS IN THE CHRYSALIS.
RULES FOR BEING HUMAN
1. You will receive a body
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the
entire period this time around.
2. You will learn lessons
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called LIFE.
Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.
You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons
Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation.
The "failed" experiments are as much apart of the process
as the experiments that ultimately "works".
4. A lesson is repeated until it is learned
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms
until you have learned it. When you have learned it
you can then go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end
Their is no part of life that doesn't contain it's lessons
If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
6. There is no better than here
When your "there" has become a "here".You will
simply obtain another "their" that will,
again look better than "here".
7. Others are merely mirrors of you
You cannot love or hate something about another
person unless it reflects to you something
you love or hate yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you
You have all the tools and resources you need.
What you do with them is up to you
9. Your answers lie inside you
The answers to life's questions lie inside you.
all you need to do is
LOOK, LISTEN, and TRUST.
10. You will forget all this

FLOW
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF OPTIMAL EXPERIENCE
The Auto-Telec Self Why are some people weakened by stress, while others gain strength from it? Basically the answer is simple: those who know how to transform a hopeless situation into a new flow activity that can be controlled will be able to enjoy themselves, and emerge stronger from the ordeal. there are three main steps that seem to be involved in such transformations:
1. Unselfconscious self - assurance........ One common attitude shared by such people was the implicit belief that their destiny was in their hands. They did not doubt their own resources would be sufficient to allow them to determine their fate. In that sense one would call them self-assured, yet at the same time, their egos seemed curiously absent: they are not self-centered; their energy is typically not bent on dominating their environment as much as on finding a way to function within it harmoniously.
(I feel that step two needed to be explained differently here than the original author has explained it, I feel the conclusions are correct but the antecedents behind it could better be seen from more understanding perspectives. Please feel free to get his book and compare, and then come to your own conclusions. the_apprentice)
2. Focusing attention on the moment........When attention is on all the outward concerns that create our world around us the distraction is to much for our energy to focus. As long as most of ones energy is absorbed by the concerns and desires of the ego. The ego although it is a mental process is an external addition of the mind, a mental tumor that sucks away energy by redirecting it towards feelings of self importance. When they are not expending energy on these feelings of self importance, the attention is alert, and able to see the alternative possibilities. This focus then allows us to center on the moment and function with clarity and power.
3. The discovery of new solutions......they focus attention on the solutions to the obstacles to achieving ones goals and then moves those obstacles out of the way. Focusing on the entire situation, including ones self, to discover whether alternative goals may be more appropriate, and thus different solutions possible. They have an endless capacity to improvise.
The Auto-telec Self is one that translates potential threats into an enjoyable challenges and maintains the inner harmony. The Auto-telec Self transforms potential entropic experience into flow. Developing such a self is simple as seen from the flow model. The common theme of behavior are shown below:
- setting goals. - to be able to experience flow one must have clear goals to strive for.
- Becoming immersed in the activity. - the auto-telec person grows deeply involved with whatever he is doing. He invests attention in the task at hand.(There were originally four steps but I couldn't see a difference between 2 & 3, so they were combined.)
- learning to enjoy immediate experience. - with being immersed in the task at hand the auto-telec person learns to center attention on the immediate experience learning to enjoy the moment. Being in control of the mind means that literally anything that happens can be a source of joy.
To change all existence into flow experience, it is not merely learning how to control moment by moment states of consciousness. It is also necessary to have an overall context of goals for the events of everyday life to make sense. To create harmony in whatever one does is the last task that the flow theory presents to attain optimal experience; it is a task that involves transforming the entirety of life into a single flow activity, with unified goals that provide constant purpose.to see the book

THE FOUR POWERS OF MAGUS
Knowledge, Courage, Will and Silence:Traditionally called the four powers of Magus, these qualities are what you need to aid your ability to focus and concentrate. here are some details:
Knowledge:
This is the voice of your inner wisdom, the part within you which knows. It is not knowledge in the way you learned at school: it is a knowledge that which cannot be acquired for it is to be lived or experienced.
Courage:
When your own inner truths challenges ideas and preconceptions you have lived with for a long time, you will need courage to follow it.
Will:
This is what keeps you on the path, fending off the thousand and one distractions that can take you away from it.
Silence:
This is the ability to shut off the noise of the mind; all the constant thoughts and worries which go around and around in your head. Without this ability you cannot hear your inner voice.
Nourish these qualities-remember them.... Just remember:Am I listening to myself? She said that for shamans, this is not discipline. She said that for them, discipline is the art of feeling awe. In the case of the recapitulation, we are provided an opportunity to feel awe at the phenomenon of awareness, at the experience of being bubbles of awareness, sent out by the universe itself in its attempt to become aware of itself. She said that rather than being trapped in our habits and our intent to be either losers or to be number one, we can witness what our own tour has been up to now, and move on to something new.
