Rhythms From The Prairie

Twenty Cents A Share
They club the baby seals
for twenty cents a share
So all the fancy people
can have fine clothes to wear
For twenty cents a share
a man can gain a lot
If he kills one hundred babes
he can show a twenty spot
For twenty cents a share
a man would risk his soul
But again it's that twenty spot
that must be his goal
The slaughter of Gods creature
for twenty cents a share
Gives cause for us to wonder
how deep is man's despair
Dear Buffalo
Dear Buffalo, we heard they shot you down
in the moment that you stood
We guess we'll say we're sorry
only if we could

Dear Buffalo, forgive us if you can
the absence of looking ahead
We guess we'll say we're sorry
too late, for now your dead

Dear Buffalo, why didn't you flee
at the report of a firing gun
We guess we'll say we're sorry
and wish you'd chose to run

Dear Buffalo, mother and father gone
absent your sister and brother
We guess we'll say we're sorry
unswayed, you stood next to each other

Dear Buffalo, "Give me a home
where the buffalo roam", sings so easily
We guess we'll say we're sorry
homeless we all shall be
Another Victim My Friend
The trees of mother earth
are all wilted down
Result of the lack of rain
disappears before touching ground
Just another victim my friend
of the global warming trend

The great bears of the north
are moving to the south
Not because they like the weather
but need to feed their mouth
Just another victim my friend
of the global warming trend

The manatess of the gulf
are now floating on the top
The rise in the sea level
gave demise to their crop
Just another victim my friend
of the global warming trend

The baby seals cease to cry
from clubs in the head
The baby seals, extinct now
no more baby seals dead
Just another victim my friend
of the global warming trend

Mankind bans all the mirrors
no longer wants to see
The crop that man now shall reap
the product of humanity
Just another victim my friend
of the global warming trend
