The pictures on this page show a trail through a not-very-wide but very thick bamboo forest, my favorite part of the arboretum. In most places along the trail, the sunlight was almost completely blocked out by the thick interwoven foliage above. It was so dense, in fact, that you almost feel like you really are in a jungle. But it was a refrigerated jungle -- the temperature inside the forest was about fifteen degrees lower than the outside temperature.
