Australia is lucky or unlucky to have the top ten (10) most leathal snakes in the world, and out of the top twenty five (25) we have twenty one (21). The number one is the Fierce snake (Inland Taipan)

The small scalled or Inland Taipan

The small scaled (inland taipan or Fierce) snake is the most potent in the world, This snake is only found in the uninhabited areas of south western Queensland. There has been no recorded deaths from this snake due to the unpopulated areas it lives in, it is very unlikly you will see this snake in the wild because of the area it lives in.
The Taipan

The Taipan is mostly found in the non-desert areas of north/north east Australia (Brisbane-Darwin)It is a long slender snake, it maybe any shade of brown but always has a rectangular head with red eyes. Paralysis is difficult to reverse unless treated early, If untreated death is almost certain.
The Brown Snake or Common Brown

The Brown Snake is found all over Australia, Its venom is very potent but it injects a small amount.Regardless to the small amount of venom the Brown kills the most people, This is due to the wide range it covers.
The rest of the brown snake family are Ingrams Brown, Speckled Brown and the Ringed Brown.
The King brown or Mulga

The King brown/Mulga snake is found in all arid areas of Australia, It has a strongly defined dark crosshatched pattern on its scales. This snake is more related to the black snakes than the brown.

The Redbellied Black snake is found in the eastern non arid areas.
The Copperhead

The Copperhead is found in the western plains of NSW, Tasmania, and Victoria. Bites from this snake can be fatal but rarely are.
The Death Adder

The Death Adder is found all over Australia, you have the common Death Adder found in Western Australia, South Australia, NSW, Queensland and parts of the Northern Territory.We also have the Northern Death Adder and the desert Death Adder.
The Tiger Snake

the common Tiger Snake is found in South-eastern Queensland, Eastern NSW, Victoria, South-eastern South Australia and the South-western parts of Western Australia.
If bitten by this snake and treatment is delayed, mortality is 45-50%

The Black Tiger Snake is found in the Coastal areas and on the off-shore islands os South Australia, Bass Strait islands and Tasmania

There are two coatsal populations, one in North-eastern Queensland and the other in South-eastern Queensland to the top of NSW
This snake will become very aggressive when provoked and will bite at every opportunity. The venom will cause severe muscle damage and affect the blood, keep well clear of this fellow.
