Bárðarbunga Eruption 1996 and the Outburst Flood (Jökulhlaup) that followed.

Þröstur´s Pictures shows pictures that I took in January 1997 on Skeiðarár-sandur.  The jökulhlaup flooded the beach and left several large icebergs behind.  It was truly neat to drive and walk among those gigantic icebergs.

Chronology is a compilation of news as the eruption and jökulhlaup happened.  This is pulled together from variety of sources, which I hopefully acknowledge accordingly.
