The Temmincki Golden Cat
The Temmincki Golden Cat (Felis temmincki temmincki) usually weighs 12-15
kilograms (26-33 pounds) and measures 50-60 centimeters (19-23 inches)
head and body, with a tail of 35-40 centimeters (13-15 inches).
This cat lives in deciduous
forests, tropical rainforests, and occasionally more open habitats.
Through Southeast Asia from
Nepal, east to Burma, China Thailand, Malaysia, and Sumatra.
1-2 young are born after
a 75 day gestation period.
Known to hunt mainly on the
ground, the Temmincki Golden Cat feeds on hares, small deer, birds and
lizards and may sometime take domestic poultry and livestock. This cat
can also climb as well.
