Six-mile Tunnel Adventure
Liew Chin Chow led 57 members from Perak and Selangor to this oft-requested thrilling caving adventure. After about 20 participants have started swimming across the lotus pond Liew reached the entrance of the tunnel. To his shock he found that the usual knee-high water level has risen to almost eye-level with clearance of only about half a meter. He almost wanted to abort the trip and ask the rest to turn back but upon discovering that more than 20 had entered the tunnel he had no choice but to continue. Fortunately the water level was lower towards the other entrance. Once through almost all except four tried to squeeze through the small opening on the other side of the wang to explore the source of the spring water. When everyone had their fill of thrills they repeated the swim through the dark tunnel and lotus pond. The hat was passed around to the outstation members and day-trippers for contribution to the building fund which netted RM120.00. Syabas Liew!
