Activities Report Mar 2000 Newsletter
Fellowship Night (Saturday 26 February 2000)
A total of 62 members including a few children turned and again made this
event a memorable one. Although 73 members called up quite number could
not make it that night. Our gracious host, Puan Sri Rosalind Foo prepared
a beautiful setting for the evening and provided the beer and drinks.
The caterer, Moving Fast were on hand
to cook and serve the food. As some had requested vegetarian food two dishes
were specially ordered from a vegetarian restaurant in addition to the
fried rice, noodles and salad. Lim Phaik Imm generously donated 4 large
fruit cakes for desert. While dinner was going on a special video presentation
by Dr. Chan Kai Soon was shown high-lighting the year’s activities. At
the end he presented a copy to be used as a lucky draw (which was won by
Ms. Hon Wai Yee) and a copy to our patron.
Our patron presented a Swarovski tee
shirt donated by the Chairman to Dr. Chan kai Soon in appreciation of the
wonderful work he has done over the year toset up and manage the home page
and the birding chatlist. The Chairman also donated another Swarovski tee
shirt for auctioning which goes to the branch building fund. Dato’ Dr.
Majumder sportingly outbidded everyone paying RM70.00 for it. Thank you
Dato’!
With good food, good company and a wonderful
environment everyone had a good time. Hopefully more will join us next
year.
