Announcements
1. Building Fund
The Branch Building Fund has increased to RM10,255.00 to date (not inclusive
of interest earned) with a generous donation of RM100.00 from Ms. Khoo
Siew Yong and RM85.00 from the Pos Slim trip led by Mr. Ng Chang Chai.
Maryjane Evans from the USA sent US$20.00 which exchanged for RM75.60 while
Tom Goossens from Belgium gave RM10.00. Due to an oversight, donations
from Ms. Foong Hui Wen (RM15.00), Ms. Ho Kum Leng (RM50.00) and the Chairman
(RM241.90) earlier were inadvertently left out. Members have also pointed
that there was an error in the total collected earlier. With the
errors corrected the fund stands as above. It will certainly increase when
the final accounts from the sale of other items are included. However,
our efforts at fund raising will continue through the sale of insect post
cards (RM3.00 per set of 6), trip collections and donations. If you wish
to make any donations please send your cheques/money order/bank draft
payable to Malaysian Nature Society to the Chairman at the branch address.
Any amount, however small, is most welcome. All donations to the MNS are
tax-deductible for this year 2000. Please ensure that your name is
correctly spelled as in your identity card.
2. MNS Perak Branch Office
We are slowly moving into our own premise at last. The electricity supply
has been connected and the lights and other fittings installed. We would
need office equipment and furniture such as tables, chairs, ceiling fans,
air-conditioning units, filing cabinets and cupboards to make it functional.
Hopefully members, especially corporate ones who would like to donate to
the branch are most welcome. Please contact the Branch Chairman or any
of the branch committee to obtain a list of such requirements and inform
us of your intended donation. One room will be set aside for rent
tooutstation members at a very reasonable rate (donation of beds and mattresses
are welcome).
3. New Members
We welcome the following who applied to join as new members either directly
to HQ or through the Perak Branch. If anyone is left out of this list please
write in to inform the Chairman.
