Announcements

1) Building Fund

The Branch Building Fund has increased to RM10,625.00 to date (not inclusive of interest earned) with RM260.00 from donations and balance of collections for the Fireflies trip and RM110.00 collected during the AGM. However, our efforts at fund raising will continue through the sale of branch t-shirts, insect post cards (RM3.00 per set of 6), trip collections and donations. If you wish to make any donations please send your cheques/ money order/bank draft payable to Malaysian Nature Society to the Chairman at the branch address. Any amount, however small, is most welcome. All donations to the MNS are tax-deductible. Please ensure that your name is correctly spelled as in your identity card.

2) MNS Perak Branch Office/NERMC

We are slowly moving into our own premise at last. We would need office equipment and furniture such as tables, chairs, ceiling fans, air-conditioning units, filing cabinets and cupboards to make it functional. Hopefully members, especially corporate ones, would donate these equipment to the branch. Please contact the Branch Chairman or any of the branch committee to obtain a list of such requirements and inform us of your intended donation. One room will be set aside for rent to outstation members at a very reasonable rate (donation of beds and mattresses are welcome).

3) New Members

We welcome the following who applied to join as new members either directly to HQ or through the Perak Branch. If anyone is left out of this list please write in to inform the Chairman.

The Branch has been offered a space to put up an exhibition of the MNS activities at the Ipoh Parade on 15-16 September 2000 through Eric Rackl who is a volunteer at the organic farm in Yuk Choy Private School. They would be exhibiting their organic farm produce. We would need volunteers to help man the space and to attend to enquiries. Those interested in helping please get in touch with the Chairman or Vice-Chairperson or Secretary.
