Talk by Mr. Borge Ousland "Skiing across Antartica Alone"
The Royal Norwegian Embassy has extended an invitation to members of the MNS to hear this interesting presentation on 10 February at the Regent Hotel Ballroom, Jalan Bukit Bintang. A light cocktail reception will be served. Our President will be giving an introductory speech. Borge has an impressive resume and his present occupation is author, photographer, documentary filmmaker and lecturer. He is the first person to ski alone to the north and south poles unsupported, skied a total distance of about 6440 km including the Franz Josef Land archipelago and spent close to 300 days doing this. There are 300 seats for MNS members so I would like to urge all those interested to respond by fax/phone to Rose by 24 January so that the embassy can be informed.
Members will be also interested to know that our President also visited Antarctica in Dec. 1997 and would like to present a talk, especially to members, at a later date.
