The Highland Resorts Road requires an Environment Impact Assessment as required under Section 34A of Environmental Quality Act, 1974. The EIA is being done by Minconsult. It costs RM 3 million and is paid by the government, ie public money.
The law requires the EIA to be made public and it will be displayed normally for one month for public viewing in the Department of Environment (DOE) in Wisma Sime Darby, Kuala Lumpur and all State DOE offices in the capital cities. You as a concerned member of the public can inspect the EIA and give your comments or views to the DOE within the month once it's announced that it's available for public viewing. You should exercise this right. Do not lose this golden opportunity to voice your concern to the Director General of the DOE at the following address:
