Building Fund Donation
The Branch Building Fund to date stands at RM4,785.00 with the receipt of donations from the following members. The committee wish to thank all of you and may you all be blessed with success and happiness. If you wish to donate more in the future please send your cheques/money order/bank draft payable to Malaysian Nature Society to the Chairman at the branch address. Any amount, however small, is most welcome. All donations to the MNS are tax-deductible. Please ensure that your name is correctly spelled as in your identity card.

New MNS Perak Alternative Website
Due to limited space we have decided to move to a new site so that more news and graphics will be put up for members to view. Anyone accessing that old website at Geocities will be guided to the new url which is: http://mnsperak.virtualave.net/nature.html. The average number of visitors to the website has increased tremendously during the month of March and April..

Tan Kean Cheong Bird Conservation Fund
In fulfillment of the late Mr. Tan Kean Cheong's wishes to see to the prosperity of our feathered friends, his executrix,  Ms Tan Yoke Sim, sent MNS Perak Branch a cheque for RM21,000.00 on 12/3/99 bringing the total amount received for the Fund to RM33,000 of which RM4,000 was given to MNS Bird Conservation Council for the Malim Nawar Bird Sanctuary/ Nature Park Feasibility Survey. With this generous legacy, the MNS Perak Branch now pledges its best to realise this wish.

Branch AGM and National AGM
The branch AGM will be held tentatively on Saturday 17 July 1999 while the National AGM will be held on 28-30 August 1999. Please keep these dates free as your participation is most important.

Insect  Photos
Mr. Michael Yeh has given us a number of insect photos which Dr. Chan has kindly put up on the homepage. By the way a new phasmid found in Tapah has been named after him by Paul Brock in a book just published by the MNS. Thanks a lot Michael!
