Trekking, Camping up Gunung Stong, Jelawang Waterfalls, Kelantan
(16-19 April)
Mah King Wah led a group of 23 in 5 cars and a van on a journey of
more than 300 km across the East-West Highway to see the highest waterfall
in South East Asia. After spending a night at the top of the waterfall
at 490 metres, a group of 20 successful participants reached the summit
of Gunong Setong (1422 metres). Liew Chin Chow reported heavy rain made
the river swell up and gave the trekkers a few tense moments. A very enjoyable
and challenging trip indeed. More details will be in a write-up later by
Dr. Chan Ah Lak.
