Family Nature Camp for Perak Members at Papan Forestry Nursery
Date : Sat-Sun 9-10 May, 1998

To create a greater awareness in nature, especially among the junior family members, your committee is organising this overnight nature camp, free of charge, strictly for Perak members and their immediate family members only. Organised nature activities like nature appreciation, jungle trekking, bird watching and slide shows will be arranged. All participating individuals and families should bring their own camping gears, food and drinks and make their own arrangement for transport. Due to space and resource constraints, all interested members must make their reservation through Ng Chang Chai after agreeing to voluntarily abide by the following terms and conditions:
All participating members must produce their valid membership cards for camp registration;
All participants will be responsible for their own safety and welfare during the camp duration. The Society does not provide any insurance coverage for any untoward eventualities;
All participating juniors must be accompanied by at least one of parent;
All participants must agree to keep the camp site clean and tidy at all times. They must also agree to pack out their own rubbish at the end of the camp;
All participants must not cause any damage or remove any plant materials from the campsite.
Expedition to Gunung Bubu, Trong
Date & Time: 7.30 am Sunday 24 May, 1998

Please note that participants are expected to be fit for this trip. As both trip leaders have not been up by this trail participants should have a sense of humour and lots of patience. Please pack lunch and other necessities as the trek is expected to take 8 - 10 hours. Those who are less fit can bird and picnic at the Trong Waterfall while the trip leaders go ahead with the trek.
Birding at Fraser Hill

This is a prelude to the Fraser Hill Bird Race on the following weekend. Participants for the Bird race may take this opportunity to do their warm-up round. Nevertheless, beginners are also welcome to join the trip. Arrange your own transport. Bring your binoculars, walking shoes, hat, drinking water and snacks. We will eat out for our meals. Note: Though accommodations at the Gap Resthouse have been booked, please contact the Trip leader to confirm your room booking early and on the time for departure as he may decide to leave on 30th morning instead.
11th International Fraser Hill Bird Race

Camping on Teluk Senangin (Next to Damai Laut)

Trekking Up Rocky Mountain, Tanjung Rambutan

Do not despair if you have not visited the USA's Rocky Mountain at this time when our government is discouraging oversea trips. Here is an opportunity for you to have a go at the Ipoh version of Rocky Mountain (a minimised one of course) at Tanjung Rambutan. The trip leader will lead parti-cipants on an invigorating morning trek along an open mud track before resuming a 20-minute uphill climb along a forest trail. On reaching the rocky outcrop at the peak, participants will be able to enjoy a breath-taking view of a scenic natural landscape. The trek should be over by lunch. All participants are promised a serene lunch spot beside with a cool, cascading mountain stream amidst lush natural forest vegetation. If you long for peace and tranquillity with nature (especially flora enthusiasts) try not to miss this! Please bring sufficient drinking water and packed lunch/snack. Birding Around Kuala Kangsar
