| Your Anole | Green Anoles are inexpensive, yet interesting lizards. They are fairly easy to care for. When choosing your anole, pick one that is bright green or light brown. If you want more than one, and it's a good idea to do so, then get only one male per 15 gallons (ie. if you get a 15 gallon aquarium, get only one male, if you have a 30 gallon, you can get 2, and so on) |
| Price | Most of the time, you can find these lizards for under $5.00 each. |
| Housing | A 10-15 gallon auarium can comfortably house 2-3 anoles. Get a tightly fitting screen top. |
| Heating | Either a heat lamp or an undertank heater should be used. During the day, temperatures should reach between 80ºF-90ºF. |
| Creating the perfect environment | Start with a substrate of gravel or wood chips. Add rocks, sticks, fake plants, a shallow water dish, and other things for your anoles to climb on or hide under. Mist the aquarium twice daily with a spray bottle, to keep a constant humidity. |
| Diet | Your anole will eat crickets, and maybe mealworms. Dust the crickets with calcium and vitamin powder before feeding them to your anole. |
| Other | Handle these lizards very carefully, as improper handling can result in lost tails and toes! |
