This is the team that went from our Troop, a lot more went with us from the Cape Western area. We all went up in one bus, and it was a long ride from Cape Town to Gauteng. We arrived there the day before Sanjamb officialy started, and we were rained out in a thunder storm, so we had to spend the night in the toilets because our tent collapsed and the ground was soaked. We dug trenches the next day and people thought we were mad, until it rained again.

There were five subcamps, named in Zulu after five colours in the rainbow:

NameMeaning  Chief of sub-camp
Kwabomvu-Red-Martin de Bruyn
Botaleng-Green-Rita Mkwanazi
Mohodimong  -Blue-Adrian Van Schaik
Kweliphuzi-Yellow-Dudley James
Wolintshi-Orange-Desmond Sam

We were in the red subcamp, Kwabomvu, and our Troop Scvouter for Sanjamb was Marlin, his assistant was James Safute. Tey were great leaders and we had some good times. In our new "troop" we had three guys from 1st Melville Scout troop, six from some other troop in Gauteng, also we were priveliged to have a Scout from Ughanda with us, Moses.
