The Lion's Head Dwala Hike

Who would even think of playing cards on top of Lion's Head? |
The Dwala Hike
On a date sometime in December of 1998, six scouts from 1st Monte Vista set out to climb Lions Head, one of them carrying a table on his back, the others carrying their chairs.
They got to the summit to find a couple of hikers who they greeted friendly. Before settling down, they went behind a boulder and changed into sometime a bit more fitting for a card game - suits and ties.
Other hikers looked at them in disbelief. These Scouts were playing cards on Lions Head, dressed Mafia style. The name of the card game was Dwala, a game played by the 1st Monte Vista Scouts. It has no winners, just a loser and he has to wear a rediculous hat during the next game until someone else loses. The next loser then has to wear the hat and the predesessor is relieved of being the laughing stock. It is great fun, especially when you have a really funny hat.
