ok First Metagame Strategy is for the infamous ?Haymaker?. Personally I have no problem with these decks myself, but basically these decks are designed to deal damage fast and draw prizes in a snap. There are many variants of them but the most common include: Hitmonchan
Magmar(fossil)
Scyther
Electabuzz
Mewtwo(Movie Promo)
Plus Power
Professor Oak
Gust Of Wind
Bill
Computer Search
Energy Removal
Super Energy Removal
Rainbow Energy
Double Colorless Energy
Colored Energy
All of the pokémon can deal damage with 1-2 energy costs and too keep retreating and not attacking, include the energy removals . The trainers will get he cards fast and if your deck can hold for about 20 turns you in the clear. The Rainbow Energy offers energy costs for all the pokémon if you don?t have the right kind. With the new Gym expansions you will see some new cards popping in. 1 i can think of off the top of my head is the narrow gym, because with less space to put down basics, the less pokémon to take care of. Also the Blane?s Last Resort will be showing up, if it does, it will be good because i mean in haymakers, you use like all of the cards in your hand, thus you can use it once you?ve used everything else and keep kicking butt.. Erika?s Perfume will add a chance to get the weaker pokémon on the bench and kill them faster =). too get out smaller basics faster, Sabrinas gaze will work well along with energy flow because of the small number of energy. Another card to look out for is Erika?s Jigglypuff, LV 13, because it can do a first turn 40 damage or 80 with all 4 pluspowers. If the opponent has like 1 pokémon , oak and bill computer search whatever, just to get out enough defenders and a DCE to beat it down, one turn. ok that covers Haymakers, or at least all you need to know to beat them back down to the Haystack( don?t ask).
