QMHE | Competition | Rules | Entry RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
2000 QUEENSLAND SCALE MODELLING CHAMPIONSHIP1. All models will be judged on static scale model criteria.
2. This championship will be decided by Judges appointed by the Championship Management Committee.
3. All models entered in the Championship are to be the sole work of the entrant. Models found in breach of this rule will be disqualified.
4. Any model which has placed in previous Brisbane/Queensland Master Modellers Competitions or Queensland Scale Modelling Championships cannot be entered.
5. Entry categories in this Championship are listed below. Junior Modellers are people under 13. Intermediate Modellers are people between 13 and 18. (Junior and Intermediate Modellers may enter a more senior category if they wish, but Senior Modellers cannot enter the Junior or Intermediate categories.)
6. Models in the Out of the Box category must be built using only the parts contained in one kit as per the instructions. These parts may be refined. Models in this category can be finished in either the colour scheme or markings contained in the kit or from after market products. If there is any doubt about which category a model should be placed in, the Chief Judge will determine the category in accordance with the friendly spirit of the competition. Modified category will be any model between Out of the Box and Scratchbuilt.
7. All Scratchbuilt models will be entered in the Scratchbuilt Category. To be eligible for this category, a model must have had at least 75% of the work completed, scratchbuilt. Plans and or reference material must be supplied.
8. Models in the Diorama and Vignette categories will have all objects and the base judged as part of the model. A definition of the two categories is listed below.
DIORAMA: A scene including one or more models and effects. A Diorama should tell a story.
VIGNETTES: Figure or figures with or without a small piece of equipment or live stock on a simple scenic base. A focus on a small part of a diorama.9. If there is any doubt which category a model should be in, the Chief Judge will decide the category in accordance with the friendly spirit of the competition.
10. You may enter as many models in each category as you like, but each model will be eligible for that category only. An entry form is required for each model and photocopies of entry forms are acceptable.
11. Registration of entries close on Friday the 25 August 2000 and should be posted to 14 Gay Street, Gailes QLD 4300.
12. Entrants in the Championship must supply the instruction for the model and can supply any other reference material. All reference material should be supplied on the night of 25 August 2000 and not be posted in with your entry form.
13. Registered entries are to be delivered to the Brisbane Table Tennis Centre, 86 Green Terrace, Downey Park, Windsor between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm on Friday the 25 August 2000. Entrants can collect their models between 4.30 pm and 6.00 p.m. on Sunday 27 August 2000. Modellers from outside Brisbane can take their models earlier by prior arrangement with the committee.
14. Entry fees are $2.00 per model. This fee will be collected on Friday 25 August 2000.
15. While all care will be taken with all models, no responsibility will be accepted for damage caused to the models. Organisers have the right to move models around judging tables should it be necessary. Judges may also be required to handle the models while judging.
16. The Championship organisers may combine or expand categories depending on the number of entries to each category.
17. Members of the Organising committee can enter the competition but no entrant may judge their own work.
18. An award ceremony will be held at 4.00 pm on Sunday 27 August 2000 during the Queensland Model Hobbies Expo.
19. The judge’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
20. All entrants should remember that all participants in the competition share the same passion for their hobby as you. All entrants should have fun and join in the spirit of friendship with other modellers.
