Bear Tracks in My River Journal

After Chris and Lesley's wedding, Steve and I stayed on until Tuesday, enjoying the beautiful Yosemite Valley. Well, on Tuesday we went to load the car and discovered tracks all over the hood and windshield. The tracks at left are what bear tracks are supposed to look like.

The photo at right is a close up of the tracks that were all over the hood and windshield. Looks like bear to me!!

I counted sixteen individual footprints on the hood. The red arrows show where some of them are. It appears a bear climbed onto the hood over the headlight, walked up to get a good look in the window, and then left when he or she discovered nothing good to eat (Thank God!). Those bears are SO strong, they can bend a car door like a beer can!
